Here in Georgia, this is the time of year when you need a hoodie in the morning and at night, but you'll still be in flip-flops mid-day! I love it, though! Personally, my favorite part of fall is FOOTBALL. :o)

I also love to get kids in the mood for fall and Halloween (without ever saying the H-word of course) with some fun mentor texts! Here are just a few of my favorites:

Although it was hard to choose which awesome book to focus on in this post, the freebie I am sharing with you goes with the book, The Spider and the Fly. This activity requires students to use evidence from the poem to show the spider is cunning- great for inferring and character trait lessons!
